We have abandoned traditional hex wrenches because they too often cause deformation of the screw socket, making it impossible to unscrew the screw and causing the wrench to slip out of the socket. Tools with the Hex-Plus profile have larger contact surfaces within the screw socket. This reduces the effect of the notch and minimizes the risk of screw socket deformation. The Hex-Plus profile also allows for a 20% increase in torque transmission.

Stainless steel pin wrenches, which have the necessary hardness, prevent surface corrosion.

When hardened in vacuum furnaces, these components exhibit the hardness and strength required for assembly work. As a result, there are no limitations on their industrial applications.

With hex socket head screws, the socket tends to become rounded very quickly. This is caused by the sharp edge of the tool coming into contact with the inner surface of the screw head. The gradual wear process eventually leads to the socket becoming rounded. Larger contact surfaces on Wera Hex-Plus tools prevent this process. The formation of a notch—and thus deformation—is significantly reduced. At the same time, it is possible to transmit 20% higher torque. Furthermore, Hex-Plus tools can be used with all standard hex socket screws!
