We have abandoned traditional hex wrenches because they too often cause deformation of the screw socket, making it impossible to unscrew the screw and causing the wrench to slip out of the socket. Tools with the Hex-Plus profile have larger contact surfaces within the screw socket. This reduces the effect of the notch and minimizes the risk of screw socket deformation. With hex head screws, the socket tends to become rounded very quickly. This is caused by the sharp edge of the tool coming into contact with the inner surface of the screw head.
